Furnace – 25 Point Checklist

  • Check T-stat Calibration and Operation
  • Check Furnace Filter (Replace If Available)
  • Check Humidifier Damper Position (When Applicable)
  • Check for Proper Ignition Upon A Heat Call
  • Clean and Check Burners (As Required)
  • Clean and Check Piolet Assembly (When Applicable)
  • Check Flame Sensor Reading
  • Check Ignitor Resistance
  • Check and Adjust Gas Pressure (Nat. Or Lp)
  • Check for Proper Temperature Rise
  • Check Draft Fan Operation and Amp Draw
  • Check Pressure Switch for Proper Operation
  • Check All Safety Controls
  • Check High Limit Operation
  • Check Blower Motor and Blower Capacitor (When Applicable)
  • Check Blower Wheel Condition
  • Clean Cabinets and Outside of Unit
  • Secure All Electrical Connections
  • Lubricate All Applicable Parts
  • Check Flue for Obstructions and Clean Drain Lines and Trap
  • Inspect Heat Exchanger for Cracks or Corrosion
  • Check Carbon Monoxide in Exhaust

  • Check Mega Ohm Readings
  • Check High-side Compressor Pressure
  • Check Low-side Compressor Pressure
  • Check Subcooling/superheat For Proper Refrigerant Charge
  • Tighten Service Caps to Prevent Refrigerant Leaks
  • Apply Protective Coat on Painted Surface
